Eva Santiago

Eva Santiago is a Parent Organizer and Parent Advocate at the Child Welfare Organizing Project. Having completed a restorative certificate program at the New School Institute for Transformative Mentoring, she now works closely with families who are affected by the child welfare system, supporting families of color undergoing the trauma that comes with systemic oppression. She believes the first step towards healing is educating parents to better protect themselves and their families. Her personal experience with the child welfare system has driven her to spread awareness on the disproportionality within communities of color, and she believes that organizing will bring people together to create powerful solutions to transform the system.
